Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Kinder und Jugend, Note: 1,3, Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im deutschen, drei-gliedrigen Schulsystem, bestehend aus Gymnasium, Realschule und Hauptschule, ist die letztgenannte die am meisten kritisierte Einrichtung. Sie steht sowohl einer strukturellen Debatte gegenüber, die die komplette Abschaffung der Hauptschule fordert, aber auch die Schüler dieser Schulart selbst geraten oft in den Fokus von hitzigen Debatten. Spätestens seit die Lehrer der ehemaligen Berliner Rütlischule einen Brandbrief an den Berliner Senat sendeten, in dem sie die Zustände an ihrer Schule darstellten und kritisierten, werden Hauptschüler auch in großem Maße stigmatisiert. Auf den speziellen Fall der Rütlischule wird später in dieser Arbeit noch gesondert behandelt.
Die weitreichenden Kritiken an der Schulform Hauptschule betreffen nicht nur viele Politiker, Lehrer und Eltern, sondern vor allem die Schüler. Wie der Titel verrät, liegt das Hauptinteresse dieser Arbeit darin darzustellen, ob die Hauptschule in ihrer jetzigen Formen den Schülern genügend Perspektiven zur psychischen und fachlichen Entwicklung bietet oder ob die Hauptschule mittlerweile zu einem Sammelbecken für die geworden ist, die im gesellschaftlichen System immer zu den Verlierern gehören werden. Nach Schätzungen des Instituts für Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung gilt rund ein Fünftel eines Hauptschuljahrgangs, der auf den Arbeitsmarkt strömt, als „bildungsarm“. Etwa zehn Prozent verlassen die Hauptschule gar völlig ohne Abschluss, wodurch insgesamt ein Viertel eines Altersjahrgangs durch zu geringe Kompetenz schwer in das folgenden Berufsleben zu integrieren ist (vgl. In dieser Arbeit soll zuerst eine Einordnung der Hauptschule in das Bildungssystem Deutschlands versucht werden. Es werden vor allem Ergebnisse der großen Bildungsstudie PISA vorgestellt und weitergehende Ergebnisse zusammengefasst. Im dritten Kapitel werden Einblicke in die mediale Berichterstattung über Hauptschulen dargestellt. In diesem Kapitel wird auch genauer auf die Thematik der Rütli Schule eingegangen. In den Kapiteln 4 und 5 werden die Auswirkungen u.a. der öffentlichen Wahrnehmung und Berichterstattung auf die personelle und kollektive Identität der Hauptschüler anhand einiger Studien aufgezeigt. Vor allem in diesen Kapiteln sollen Fallbeispiele angeführt werden, um Problematiken besser aufzuzeigen. In Kapitel 6 werden erfolgreiche Konzepte der Hauptschulen vorgestellt, welche dem Negativimage entgegenwirken.
