Unter den Aspekten, wie sieht unser Wissen vom Wissen und von der Grundlage der Bildung
aus, und was ist gemeint, wenn von Bildung die Rede ist haben sich die Wissenschaftler:
Johannes Ried; Klaus Rajewsky; Zygmunt Bauman, Hans Joas; Wolf Singer; Jürgern
Baumert und Jürgen Mittelstraß, die aus unterschiedlichen Wissenschaftsbereichen stammen
dem Thema Bildung angenommen. Sie haben den Begriff „Bildung“ auf den Prüfstand
genommen und anhand von verschiedenen Fragestellungen, Betrachtungsweisen und Thesen
diskutiert.
Die Initiative McKinsey bildet. geht seit Juni 2001 den Fragen nach, wie ein Bildungssystem
Menschen frühzeitig darin unterstützen kann, ein hohes Maß an Selbstbestimmtheit zu erreichen, und sie darauf vorbereitet, ihren Beitrag für die Gesellschaft zu leisten. Diese Frage
war nie gewichtiger als heute. Der Bildungsstandort Deutschland hat seine ehemals führende
Stellung, die er bis zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts hatte, verloren. Dieses gilt für die Bereiche
der frühkindlichen Bildung, der Schulsysteme, den Hochschulen und der betrieblichen
Weiterbildung. Führend in diesen Bereichen sind mittlerweile Länder wie Skandinavien,
Asien, oder die USA. Laut den eben erwähnten Wissenschaftlern Ried, Rajewsky, Bauman,
Joas, Singer, Baumert, und Mittelstraß, ist die Bildung in Deutschland ist schlecht und das
deutsche Bildungswesen ist regelrecht verfallen.
