Magisterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 1,7, Freie Universität Berlin (Institut für Deutsche und Niederländische Philologie), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im Zeitraum 1959/60 befindet sich Paul Celan in einer Phase intensiver poetologischer Selbstreflexion:
im August 1959 entsteht sein „Gespräch im Gebirg“, der einzige erzählende Prosatext
im Werk des Lyrikers, knapp ein Jahr später im Oktober 1960 die Büchnerpreisrede „Der
Meridian“, die als wichtigste poetologische Äußerung Celans gilt. Währenddessen schließt er
„Sprachgitter“ ab und beginnt die Arbeit an der „Niemandsrose“, seinem vierten Gedichtband.
In denselben Zeitraum fällt Celans Bekanntschaft mit Adorno, die von einem Briefwechsel
begleitet wird. In einem Brief vom 23. Mai 1960, der die Übersendung des „Gesprächs im
Gebirg“ an Adorno begleitet, spricht Celan das erste Mal von Involution. Der Begriff taucht
in den Arbeitsnotizen zum „Meridian“ ebenfalls mehrfach auf. Bernhard Böschenstein kommt
der Verdienst zu, ihn hier zuerst gesehen und publik gemacht zu haben. Marlies Janz jedoch
war die Erste, die das häufige Auftreten des Begriffes in den unterschiedlichsten Zusammenhängen
als Anlass für die Vermutung nahm, dass es sich bei der Involution um ein systematisches
Konzept handeln müsse, das einen zentralen Aspekt der Celanschen Poetik darstellt.
Die Erkenntnisse, die Janz bereits seit einigen Jahren im Rahmen ihrer Lehrtätigkeit am Institut
für Neuere deutsche Literatur an der Freien Universität Berlin einer kleineren Öffentlichkeit
zugänglich gemacht hat, sind nun in systematischer Form in ihrem Beitrag zum aktuellen
Celan-Jahrbuch erschienen. Die Thesen, die Janz in ihrem Essay „'Judendeutsch'. Paul Celans
Gespräch im Gebirg im Kontext der 'Atemwende'“ formuliert, sind der zentrale Ausgangspunkt
für diese Magisterarbeit.
Der Begriff „Involution“ leitet sich von dem lateinischen Verb „involvere“ ab, das im Sinne
von einhüllen bzw. verhüllen, verbergen verwendet wird Involution wird in erster Linie im
medizinisch-biologischen Kontext verwendet und bezeichnet dort die Rückbildung der Organe
und ihrer Leistungen im Alter. Leibniz verwendete Involution daran anknüpfend als „Einwicklung
des Organismus“ durch den Tod im Gegensatz zur Evolution als „Entwicklung des
Lebens“. Die Verknüpfung von Involution und Tod ist auch im Rahmen der Celanschen Poetik
von großer Bedeutung.
