Auch für mich ist Freundschaft von großer Bedeutung. Im meiner Schulzeit habe ich sowohl
positive und negative Erfahrungen gemacht, habe ich Freundschaften geschlossen oder
wieder gelöst. Heute ist es mir nicht mehr so wichtig viele Freunde zu haben, vielmehr ist die
Intimität in einer Freundschaft von großer Bedeutung. Unsere Gesellschaft ist oft sehr
oberflächlich und echte Freunde können da Geborgenheit und den nötigen Halt geben. Durch
das Seminar „Entwicklung im Schulkind- und Jugendalter“ ist die Motivation zu dieser Arbeit
„Freundschaften im Jugendalter“ entstanden.
Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit Freundschaften im Jugendalter. Zu Beginn der
Arbeit gehe ich auf das Jugendalter ein, die Zeit in der aus Kindern Erwachsene werden. In
diese Zeit ist Freundschaft für die Entwicklung des Heranwachsenden sehr prägend.
Freundschaft kann helfen, die verschiedenen Entwicklungsaufgaben zu bewältigen. Was
Freundschaft bedeutet und wie Kinder und Jugendliche den Freundschaftsbegriff sehen wird
im Abschnitt 2 dargestellt. Um Freundschaften schließen zu können, muss man fähig sein, von
sich selbst abzusehen und Dinge aus dem Blickwinkel des anderen zu sehen. Diesen Aspekt
untersuchte der Amerikaner Robert Selman und entwickelte ein Freundschaftskonzept in fünf
Stufen, welches im Teil 3 der Arbeit erklärt wird.
Der letzte Abschnitt hat zum Ziel die Beutung von Freundschaften unter Gleichaltrigen
aufzuzeigen. Dabei steht die Peer-Group im Mittelpunkt der Betrachtung. Bedeutung,
Funktionen und Formen der Peer-Group werden geklärt. Wichtig dabei ist auch der
Kontaktaufbau zum anderen Geschlecht. Dabei gehe ich auf das Stufenmodell von Dexter C.
Dunphy ein, der den Entwicklungsprozess der Zusammenführung der Geschlechter in fünf
Schritten darstellt.
