Nichtsdestotrotz konnte bis heute eine große Anzahl von Vereinbarungen geschlossen und auch Mechanismen zum Schutz dieser Vereinbarungen geschaffen werden. In dieser Arbeit sollen nun zunächst die wichtigsten Schritte des Menschenrechtsschutzes seit 1945 im Rahmen der UNO dargestellt werden, um anschließend die Grenzen und Möglichkeiten humanitärer Interventionen, die die UNO unter bestimmten Voraussetzungen als ultima ratio zum Schutz der Menschenrechte zur Verfügung stellt, zu beleuchten.
